Owner and Master Inspector of Sherlock Homes Inspection Services and Co-Owner of K & B Construction. Dan is a Master Home Inspector certified by Great Lakes and Indiana ASHI® Chapters. He is Member #354 of the American Society of Home Inspectors since 1984 and has been a Building Contractor since 1978. Dan has owned Sherlock Homes since 1982. He is Certified One and Two Family Dwelling, General Building and Electrical Inspector through Indiana State Building Commissioner's voluntary program. He is a Licensed Electrician, Licensed Home Inspector, and Certified Building Analyst. He is the Former President of the Indiana ASHI® Chapter and is a Charter Member and former Peer Review Chairman, Education Coordinator, Director on Board for Great Lakes Chapter ASHI®

 

 

 

 

 

Nancy BaldwinNancy Baldwin, Executive Officer

Prior to joining the MCBA Nancy worked in the social services field for 16+ years.

Nancy has two master’s degrees, from Indiana State University (MMFT) and Indiana Wesleyan University (MBA).

She and her husband have two daughters, MaryLynn (attending Ball State) and Brette (attending Bloomington South).

Jeff is the Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Bloomington.

Nancy is energetic and enthusiastic, with organizational skills that are second to none.

 

 

 

Martha Shedd, Vice-President

Martha Shedd

Martha Shedd is Project Manager for Building Associates, Inc. She graduated from DePauw University where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She holds a Master Certificate in Project Management from Villanova University as well as the Project Management Professional designation from the Project Management Institute. Martha spent 15 years in the Schurz Communications/Hoosier-Times, Inc., starting her career in Bedford where she was active in the community serving on the Chamber of Commerce, Girls Club, Tourism Commission, and Mental Health Association boards. Her tenure with Hoosier-Times, Inc. culminated as Bloomington-based Classified Advertising Manager for the five Southern Indiana properties. Martha is active with Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County, where she serves as Chair of the Women’s Build Committee and as a crew leader. She also enjoys running marathons or a good golf scramble.

 

 

 

Ben BeardBen Beard, Secretary-Treasurer

Ben Beard is the owner of The Gentry Group and co-founded it in 1987. Ben is a lawyer and a CPA. The Gentry Group consists of the Gentry Real Estate Company and Gentry Construction Company. He is very active in the Monroe County Builders Association. He has been their Secretary/Treasurer for three 2 year terms and a board member for many years as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Aaron StolbergAaron Stolberg, Past President

Aaron Stolberg is President/co-owner of WS Homes and a Principle at Wininger/Stolberg Property Group.

Aaron was born and raised in Bloomington. He recently moved back to Bloomington in 2002 after living in Austin, TX for 4 1/2 years. While in Austin, Aaron worked in the commercial real estate development and brokerage business with a local development firm. He lives in Bloomington with his wife Amy who he met while they were both attending Northwestern University.

Aaron graduated from Northwestern University in 1998 where he majored in communications with a minor in economics. He was also a 4 year letter winner and captain of the Northwestern men’s soccer team. Aaron is also a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Candidate and expects to earn his designation in 2006. His wife Amy completed a Masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology at Indiana University in 2004, and is currently a speech pathologist working locally in Bloomington.

Recent projects Aaron has developed/built are: Renwick, Cameron Row at Renwick, Smithwood at Renwick, Jackson Mill at Canada Park, Springhill at Brighton Point, and Northern Manors.

 

 

Mike Baker

Mike BakerMike is a co-owner and partner in three Bloomington based companies, Presidium Development Group, Bloomington Demolition, and Baker Homes.

Born in Bloomington, Mike has grown up in the Building Industry. His father, Larry Baker, is a well-known custom home builder in the Bloomington area. Both Mike and his father are Past Presidents and State Directors of the MCBA.

Mike has made a commitment to take all three companies to a new level by building energy and environmentally friendly products, based on Energy Star and L.E.E.D. concepts, both in commercial development and residential homes. Mike is also a certified Touchstone Builder through R.E.M.C.

Mike is married with two children, Gabrielle and Carson. Mike’s wife Lia is also a very accomplished business owner in Bloomington. Lia owns The Prep School, a school for children three to six years old.

In Mike’s leisure time, he enjoys boating, diving, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends.

 

Mike Corns

MikeMichael Corns is vice-president/co-owner of Tommy D’s Windows, Doors and More, incorporated. He has been with the company since it’s inception in 1995.

Michael was born and raised in Greene County, Indiana and is a 1992 graduate of Vincennes University with an associates degree in Building Materials Technology. He, his wife and their three children reside in Bloomington and are involved in community organizations and activities. In his spare time, Michael enjoys running and coaching his children’s baseball and basketball teams.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chris Hatfield

ChrisChris Hatfield is currently the General Store Manager of Bender Lumber Company in Bedford. He has lived in the Bloomington for 5 years. He has been involved with the MCBA since 2005, and is looking forward to being more involved with the Association. The formative years of Chris’s career in building came from the time spent working for his grandfather, Bill Hatfield Owner of Hatfield Building Contractor, a well known custom home builder on the far west side of Indianapolis.

Chris has a 5 year old son, Will, who enjoys riding his bike and doing everything daddy does. Occasionally Chris gets to enjoy the golf course or wading a cool stream in search of Trout.

 

 

 

 

 

Kimber McElhinney

KimberKimber has been with the Herald-Times for five years. She sells advertising for the Hoosier Times Group to all real estate companies for all four papers and builders in Bloomington. She develops marketing plans for her customers. She has lived in Bloomington for 23 years and loves to play golf when she has time. Nyle, her husband, is originally from Bloomington. She has a daughter, Kelly, that is a sophomore in college in Boca Raton, Florida. Kimber has two step daughters, Nicole and Cara. One lives in Indy and the other in Phoenix. Nyle and Kimber have four grandchildren. She loves to stay busy!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kevin Powell

Kevin PowellKevin Powell is a co-owner of Rubicon Custom Homes.

Originally from the Indianapolis area, Kevin came to Bloomington to attend Indiana University. Previous to entering the real estate field and while in school, Kevin worked with the Bloomington Hospital Ambulance Service as an Emergency Medical Technician. He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management and a Masters of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. Kevin also holds a real estate salesperson license.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
 

Clair Roub

Clair RoubClair Roub is owner of CDR Design.

He earned degrees in Construction and Technology and Architectural Technology from Indiana State University. He has two children and coaches in each of their seasonal sports.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jason Bell

Clair RoubJason and his wife Carrie have 2 active little boys. Jason and his parents own and operate The Vacuum Center with 2 locations, in Bloomington and Bedford. Jason became active with the MCBA in 2006 when they had their first booth at the Home Show. Every year since then he as increased the size of his booth and in 2010 he Co-Chaired the event! He became the Membership Chair in 2008 and served for 2 years. He looks forward to helping guide the MCBA membership for the next year.
